Believe: Songs of Faith and Hope

Sonoro Summer 2019 Concert

Sonoro Choral Society presents “Believe: Songs of Faith and Hope” on June 8 and 9 at Steilacoom Community Church. Tickets are $15.00 online here or $17.00 at the door.

See us practicing some of our pieces on our Facebook’s video page or check out our last concerts on our Youtube channel.

“Believe” will feature contemporary art music focused on an exploration of despair and hope featuring pieces by Eriks Esenvalds, Part Uusberg, Kim Andre Arnesen, Richard Nance, and Eric Barnum. Music ranges from Celtic to Gospel and will include a debut by our newest ensemble, Elysium, as well as the first Pacific Northwest performance of “When You Believe” from the film Prince of Egypt adapted for women’s voices by Keith McKay Evans from Brigham Young University. We are also proud to include guest musician world renowned Scottish Fiddle champion Brandon Vance.

Sonoro concerts are an immersive musical experience with our front of house showcasing items to enhance the performance and to provide background information about the composers, music, and theme of the concert. There will be light, homemade refreshments at intermission and we encourage audience members to visit any one of Steilacoom’s excellent restaurants for dinner. There will also be childcare available with a licensed daycare worker. Just ask directions from our reception team!
